RoamAnywhere’s layers of FMC
Agito Networks addresses the Enterprise challenges of Plain Old Cellular Service (POCS) such as poor in-building cellular coverage, skyrocketing mobile costs, no IT visibility and control over mobile usage and lack of PBX integration with mobile phones with a layered approach to Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC). The RoamAnywhere Mobility Router is the industry’s first eFMC solution to combine both the “Network Layer” and the “Application Layer” approaches to FMC.
The Application Layer:
- RoamAnywhere allows users to benefit from one enterprise number, one enterprise voice mailbox and one CallerID
- RoamAnywhere extends key desk phone features to mobile phones
- RoamAnywhere provides greater visibility and control into mobile usage
The Network Layer:
- RoamAnywhere provides the industry’s fastest, sub-second handover between WLAN and Cellular networks with “zero” user intervention
- RoamAnywhere abstracts the underlying network from users to ensure full transparency, giving users the best possible user experience while mobile, inside and outside the enterprise
The Mobility Router is not a PBX; it integrates into enterprises’ existing PBX infrastructure. It uses patent-pending location technologies to address current enterprise challenges, and is accompanied by the RoamAnywhere Client.

Location-Aware Routing
The RoamAnywhere Mobility Router enables dual-mode WiFi/Cell Smartphone devices to use the enterprise WLAN for mobile voice while in-building, and seamless routes the call to the cellular network when moving through a WiFi/Cellular transition point, aka a Route Point. This is accomplished with RoamAnywhere patent-pending location technology. Knowing a user's location ensures that calls in building stay on WLAN to maximize coverage and cost-savings.
Location-Aware Mobile Policies
The RoamAnywhere Mobility Router provides Administrators the ability to pre-define call routing rules based on various customizable criteria such as Calling Filters, Time Zone/ Time of Day/Date or Date Range, Presence Check for user location and Battery Life. With mobile policies, enterprises can ensure compliance with corporate policies, control mobile phone operations, and tailor call routing to administrator and end-user requirements.
Enterprise PBX Integration
The RoamAnywhere Mobility Router integrates with leading enterprise IP PBXes to extend PBX identity and features to mobile workers. All calls to a user’s enterprise number will reach the user inside and outside the enterprise. The RoamAnywhere Mobility Router is designed to make your mobile phone behave like your desk phone anywhere
Simple, Automatic Deployment and Management
The RoamAnywhere Mobility Router is designed around simplified deployment. The Mobility Router integrates into existing Enterprise services such as AAA, Syslog, SNMP, and Directory Services. Client deployment is simplified using a “zero-touch”, over-the-air provisioned thin client.
Carrier-free, Vendor-agnostic eFMC
Agito delivers all this functionality to enterprises in a carrier and vendor agnostic fashion. There is no requirement for the enterprise to integrate their security and network infrastructure with the carrier infrastructure. RoamAnywhere is certified with ALL North American wireless carriers.
Mobility Informatics
A simple, yet powerful dashboard gives administrators a view of the entire system with the power to drill down to specific statistical and trending reports. Real time logging and standards-compliant call detail record (CDR) support enable ad hoc reporting of usage across WLAN and cellular, as well as end-to-end session logging.
The RoamAnywhere Client
The RoamAnywhere Client is a small footprint application design for smartphones. The RoamAnywhere Client is currently supported on Nokia/Symbian handsets, including the enterprise class Nokia eSeries and nSeries handsets. Future support for additional handsets and operating systems are planned, including Windows Mobile.
